This project represented our first foray into the Healdsburg area, and we had a great time. We had Brodie Architecture on design, and a delightful pair of clients to work with. The site is high on a hill, with fantastic views of the valley below in all directions. The existing home was dated, and difficult to navigate, so we took it down to the foundation and started over. This home now features cement siding, with a corrugated metal roof. We built arbors at the entrance, and by the pool. Stone retaining walls help with the variations in grade on this sloping site.
Inside, we installed wide plank wood flooring, vaulted wood paneled ceilings, and painted shaker cabinets with a mix of stone and butcher block counters. We forged a lot of new relationships during this project, ranging from the clients who have become friends, to a group of highly skilled subcontractors and suppliers—who will now be working with us as we rebuild the Fountaingrove neighborhood in Santa Rosa. We are very thankful to have been trusted with the re-creation of this home, and we are very proud of the end result!
